ASU Early Music Ensemble (Instrumental Ensemble)

Founded: c1984 - Tempe, Arizona, USA
Ceased to operate: 2006

The ASU Early Music Ensemble was a "small ensemble elective." It was founded by John Metz during his tenure at the the faculty of Arizona State University, where he built an early music program and taught harpsichord. The members of the ensemble were mostly "mainstream" students, who were getting their first tastes of playing in period style. The ensemble began around 1984, and ceased to operate in 2006, after John Metz had retired from Arizona State University.
