Artemis Chamber Ensemble (Instrumental Ensemble)

Founded: New York City, New York, USA

Since its inception, the Artemis Chamber Ensemble has established a reputation in New York’s performing arts community for its unique flexible structure, creative programming, and dedication to outreach. The ensemble can form a chamber orchestra, string quartet, woodwind quintet, brass quintet, and myriad other combinations, which allows for infinite program options.

Artemis Chamber Ensemble presents works ranging from Baroque/classical and innovative contemporary works to rock/jazz transcriptions. In addition, Artemis is committed to performing music by and collaborating with living composers. The musicians of the Artemis Chamber Ensemble are talented young artists who are active performers in the local, national, and international scene. Both as soloists and chamber musicians, they have performed at some of the world’s premiere stages including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Heinz Hall, Kennedy Center, La Monnai (Brussels), Sydney Opera House (Australia), and the Konzerthaus (Vienna). Members of the Artemis Chamber Ensemble are also active educators throughout the Northeast.

The Artemis Chamber Ensemble supports music in schools by providing creative and engaging programs that will expand students’ knowledge of music, as well as encourage a lifetime love of music making.
