Karen Beaumont (Organ)

Born: USA

The American organist, Karen Beaumont, received her degree in Music History from the University of Wisconsin, and has studied organ with Gerre Hancock, John Behnke, Jeffrey Peterson, and Carol Haackenson.

Karen Beaumont made her solo debut as an organist in New York City at St. Thomas Church in September 1999 and performs regularly in that city as well as other cities in the USA and in the UK. From November 1988 to April, 2011, she provided the organ and choral music at St. James Episcopal Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She now plays regularly at All Saints Cathedral and various churches in Milwaukee. In 2002, she completed a recording of French Noels; in 2008 she completed a recording of various Spanish organ composers, and she is currently working on a recording of Austrian organ music. She is an active organ recitalist in the Milwaukee area and throughout Southern Wisconsin. She is also a piano and organ and French Horn instructor.

In addition to performing in venues throughout Southern Wisconsin, she has also performed in the various cities: New York City: St. Thomas Fifth Avenue (1999, 2003, 2006, 2010, and upcoming in 2015), St. Patrick's Cathedral (2003, 2007, and 2012), St. Mary the Virgin (2004, 2007, 2009, and 2010), Church of the Transfiguration (2005, 2008, and 2010), St. Mary's in Harlem (2010 and upcoming in 2014), St. Peter's Lutheran (2000, 2001, and 2005), Cathedral of St. John the Divine (2011), St. Michael's Episcopal (2002), St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church (2013), Calvary Baptist Church (upcoming in 2014); Other North American Cities: San Francisco St. Mary's Cathedral (2009, 2010, 2012, and upcoming in 2014); Toronto, Ontario St. James Cathedral (2011 and upcoming in 2013); Chicago Holy Name (2004, 2005, and 2007)/Fourth Presbyterian (2008 and 2010)/St. John Cantius (2010, 2012 and upcoming in 2013); Des Moines, Iowa St. Paul's Cathedral (Episcopal) (2004); St. Paul, Minnesota Church of St. Louis (2005); Denver, St. John's Cathedral (2012), Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (upcoming in 2014); Princeton University Chapel (2013); Boston King's Chapel (upcoming in 2013); UK: Norwich St. Andrew's Hall (2004), Oxford Town Hall (2006 and 2008)/Queen's College (2010)/St. John's College (2011); London Southwark Cathedral (2012 and upcoming in 2014).
