Clémence Boullu (Soprano)

Born: La Côte St-André, France

The French soprano, Clémence Boullu, studied in France; then she began her education at the Universities of Lausanne and Lucerne. In July 2017, she completed her master studies at the Opernschule der Musikhochschule Stuttgart in the class of Professor Gundula Schneider. She improved her singing by attending various master-classes with Françoise Pollet, Jan-Marc Bruin, Margreet Honig, Laurent Pillot, Elène Golgevit or Silvia Geszty.

Clémence Boullu performs regularly as a soprano in various oratorios, masses and concerts, such as Les Leçons de Ténèbres by François Couperin, Johannes-Passion (BWV 245) by J.S. Bach, Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi or Oratorio de Noël by Camille Saint-Saëns.

Clémence Boullu also likes to perform in ensembles. She has performed with the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart under the baton of Marcus Creed, Kammerchor Stuttgart under the direction of Frieder Bernius and Orpheus Vokalensemble under the direction of Michael Alber.

On the opera stage, Clémence Boullu sang the Euridice in Georg Philipp Telemann's Orpheus with Génération Baroque of Le Parlement de Musique under the musical direction of Martin Gester.

Clémence Boullu has performed the Mozart roles of Zerlina in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni (under the guidance of Olivier Murith) and Barbarina in W.A. Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro (under the guidance of Bernhard Epstein). In June 2016, she performed the role of the Olympia in Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann (2016) in the production of the Opernschule Stuttgart at the Wilhelma Theater under the direction of Nicholas Kok. In November 2017, she sang Flavia in Il Cacciatore Deluso by Jommelli. The production took place under the musical direction of Philippe Amelung and directed by Jochen Schönleber in Tübingen.
