Chœur Pro Arte de Lausanne (Choir)

Founded: 1947 - Lausanne, Switzerland

Supported from its foundation in 1947 by Ernest Ansermet, the Pro Arte Choir of Lausanne (= CPAL) has sung under the direction of such prestigious directors as Ernest Ansermet, Lawrence Foster, Günter Herbig, Eliahu Inbal, Neeme Järvi, Armin Jordan, Paul Klecki, Josef Krips, Erich Leinsdorf, Jesús López-Cobos, Lorin Maazel, Charles Mackerras, Igor Markevitch, Lovro von Matacic, Vaclav Neumann, Kurt Redel, Karl Richter, Helmuth Rilling, Mstislav Rostropovich, Paul Sacher, Kurt Sanderling, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Jerzi Semkov ou Horst Stein.

Great recording labels - Cascavelle, Chandos, Decca and Erato - have called on it for their recordings. CPAL has
participated at numerous festivals in Switzerland and abroad: Athens, Cincinnati (USA), Besançon, Saint-Donat,
Evian (France), Guebwiler (France), Lourdes, Rouen, Strasbourg, Lucerne, Lutry, Montreux, Schaffhausen, Tibor Varga (Switzerland), Stresa (Italy), Stuttgart (Germany) etc.
