The Belgian conductor and tenor, Louis Devos, has his vocal studies in Graz, Austria.
In 1950 Louis Devos founded Ensemble Musica Polyphonica 1950 for the performance of early music. He sang in the first performance of Igor Stravinsky's Cantata, Brussels 1952, and in the premiere of the radio opera Orestes by Henk Badings, 1954. He participated in concerts with the Münchner Philharmoniker from 1956, under the direction of Pierre Boulez and Hermann Scherchen. He sang in the premieres of Martin's Mystere de la Nativite (Geneva, 1959) and Pilatus (Rome, 1964). In 1972 he sang in Cologne in Penderecki's Utrejna; and in 1974 at the Vienna Staatsoper.as Aron in Arnold Schoenberg's Moses und Aron. He gave guest appearances in London, Milan, Amsterdam and Brussels.
