Evangelisches Jugendchor Fürstenfeldbruck & Bach-Orchester Fürstenfeldbruck (Choir & Orchestra)

Born: 1954 - Fürstenfeldbruck, Germany

The Evangelisches Jugendchor Fürstenfeldbruck (= EJF; nowadays: Bach-Chor) was founded in 1954 by Dieter Stegemann. It consisted of some 80 youngsters, boys and girls between 14 and 25.

Repertoire was church-hmusic, classical as well as contemporary. They made several concert tours abroad: Messiah in Paris (1965), St. John Passion (BWV 245) in Nancy (France) (1966) and Basel (Switzerland) (1968). More tours were made to France in 1970 and 1971. Leader of the Bach-Orchestra Fürstenfeldbruck and the Evangelisches Jugendchor is the Stadtkantor Horst Stegemann, Dieter’s brother, since 1955.
