Esther Ebbinge (Soprano)

Born: The Netherlands

The Dutch soprano, Esther Ebbinge, studied at the Conservatory in Zwolle with Lodewijk Meeuwsen, and others and attended master-classes with Emma Kirkby, Nancy Argenta, Charlotte Margiono and Ian Partridge.

Her repertoire includes among others the Oratorios, Passions, and many cantatas by J.S. Bach, Masses by Mozart and Haydn, Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi and Haydn, operas by George Frideric Handel, Alessandro Scarlatti and Purcell, as well as a variety of other works, such as oratorios by G.F. Handel, Gloria by Francis Poulenc and the Salve Regina by Haydn.

Esther Ebbinge has worked as a soloist with the conductors Daniel Reuss, Peter Dijkstra, Jaap ter Linden, Erik Van Nevel, Jos van Veldhoven, Gustav Leonhardt, Arne Hadland and Jacques Ogg. She makes regular appearances with orchestras such as Eik en Linde, The Northern Consort, Diletto Musicale, the Barltheze Consort and Collegium Musicum Den Haag.

Esther Ebbinge was a longtime member of the Chorus of the Nederlandse Bachvereniging, and she has sung as a freelance with the Amsterdam Baroque Choir under the direction of Ton Koopman. As soloist she has performed outside the Netherlands in Norway (Stavanger), France (Paris), South Korea (Seoul) and Austria (Vienna).
