Wolfgang Frisch (Tenor)

Born: May 17, ____ - Augsburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

The German tenor, Wolfgang Frisch -Catalano, attended the Musikgymnasium of the Regensburger Domspatzen. From 1994 on, he was first a young student at the renowned Mozarteum in Salzburg, from 1995 full student. He continued his studies at the Musikhochschule Augsburg-Nürnberg, at the Bruckner-Konservatorium Linz and continued privately and in master-classes.

After singing his first solo parts in Passau, Wolfgang Frisch had guest engagements, among others, at the Theater in Augsburg, Basel, Linz and Festivals as the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspielen. He is a member of the specialized in Baroque music Ensemble La Battuta and appears as a concert and oratorio soloist under the baton of renowned conductors as Helmuth Rilling, Michael Hofstetter, Hansjörg Albrecht and Matthew Halls. He is always performs as a guest in concerts of the Bachakademie Stuttgart. He is a member of Collegium Vocale Gent (Director: Philippe Herreweghe), Balthasar-Neumann-Chor (Director: Thomas Hengelbrock), Nederlandse Bachvereniging (Director: Jos van Veldhoven), and Gächinger Kantorei Stuttgart (Directors: Helmuth Rilling & Hans-Christoph Rademann).

Wolfgang Frisch is also mactive in the education field, and has been a lecture at the Musikpädagogischen Fakultät Augsburg, among others. He is in a Civil Union with Lorenzo Catalano since June 24, 2016
