Cornelius Glaus (Counter-tenor)

Born: Switzerland

The Swiss counter-tenor, Cornelius Glaus, studied music education at the Lehrerseminar in Rorschach (as primary school teacher). He received the first singing training with Peter Mächler at the Kirchenmusikschule St. Gallen. He attended several master-classes with Professor Kurt Widmer. There his vocal category was changed from tenor to alto. From 1998, he trained as an counter-tenor with Professor Kurt Widmer in Basel.

Cornelius Glaus contributes as a soloist in various passions, oratorios, cantatas and masses by J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, Georg Philipp Telemann. He is also dedicated to singing Lieder by composers like J. Dowland, H. Purcell, H. Albert, F. Schubert. Scenic productions and contemporary music are also part of his repertoire.
