Anna-Lisa Hackett (Soprano)

Born: Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA

The American coloratura soprano, Anna-Lisa Hackett, graduated from Eden Prairie High School in Minnesota in 2000, and received her Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York (2000-2004). She has sung numerous times with the Eastman Opera Theater, Minnesota Opera, Oberlin in Italy Program, Phoenix Opera and Most recently with the Ohio Light Opera. She has won many competitions.

Anna-Lisa Hackett made her professional operatic debut in 2008 as Frasquita in Phoenix Opera's production of Carmen. She has also performed the roles of La Fata Azzurra in La Bella Dormente nel Bosco, Hanna Glawari in The Merry Widow, Madame Pompadour in Madame Pompadour and as Sister Constance in Dialogues des Carmelites of which she was acclaimed by reviewers to have "revealed a luminous voice, and sang with ease and spontaneity." A recent performance elicited Dr Leon Thurman of the Voice Care Network to write “Her voice is fabulous, bottom-to-top! Her singing, acting, and movement were very expressive and flawless.” She has been a featured soloist with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Nicholas McGegan as well as with the Eastman Collegium under the direction of Paul O'Dette. This past December she was a featured soloist with the Phoenix Symphony in the Messiah as well as in their New Year's Eve Concert and returned to the Phoenix Opera to perform The Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute. In 2011, she was Resident Professional Artist at Ohio Light Opera

Anna-Lisa Hackett is equally comfortable with musical theater and has played leading roles in many productions including Marian in The Music Man, Laurie in Oklahoma, Margy in State Fair, Rapunzel in Into the Woods, and Mrs. Gardiner in the premier production of Pride and Prejudice.

Anna-Lisa Hackett was Recruiter at Farmers Insurance for 10 years (2000-2010), Teaching Artist at OMA Foundation, and since 2010 Private Music Instructor at Arizona Music Academy. She is currently based in Phoenix and since 2004 she operates her own voice studio located in Mesa, Arizona.
