The Kammerorchester Hannover (Hannover Chamber Orchestra) is one of the oldest German chamber orchestras. Its trademark is musical wit paired with technical perfection and a rousing desire to make music. It is a string ensemble and is currently composed of 12-14 selected musicians.
The Kammerorchester Hannover is a regular guest of major festivals (including Niedersächsische Musiktage, Sao Paulo Music Festival, Londrina Music Festival, Kammermusikpodium Braunschweig, Flâneries Musicales Reims, Mosel Festwochen). Internationally renowned soloists as Ivry Gitlis, Michala Petri, Sabine Meyer, Zakhar Bron work together regularly with Kammerorchester Hannover.
The Kammerorchester Hannover was founded in 1964. In 1990, Adam Kostecki, a pupil of David Oistrakh and Boris Bielenkij, Professor of violin at the Musikhochschule Hannover, became the artistic director of the orchestra. In the late 1970’s-early 1980’s the orchestra was directed by Barbara
