Raphael Harten (Boy Alto)

Born: Germany

Raphael Harten was a member of the Knabenchor Hannover in 1980. He sang solo parts for soprano in a recording of Bach's Cantata BWV 106 under the direction of Gustav Leonhardt in his joint cantata cycle with Nikolaus Harnoncourt. As a boy he also sang in the boys' terzetto in Mozart's Zauberflöte in the Hannover opera house.

Raphael Harten is still (2005) an active member of the Knabenchor Hannover, singing contralto. He also sings in various vocal ensembles. He was soloist on various recordings, including Mozart mass KV 139 (Waisenhausmesse).
