Hartt Symphony Orchestra (Symphony Orchestra)

Born: West Hartford, Connecticut, USA

The Hartt Symphony Orchestra provides orchestral instrumentalists with exceptional performance experiences, presenting more than eight concerts a year, including performances with Hartt's dance, music theatre, and opera departments. The orchestral literature consists of a healthy balance of standard and contemporary repertoire; recent performances include Igor Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, and Dmitri Shostakovich's Symphony No. 11. In addition to sectional rehearsals with Hartt's instrumental faculty, numerous reading sessions of core, standard orchestral literature are also scheduled.
