The Austrian baritone, Günter Haumer, was born in Vienna and grew up in Tulln. At the age of 13 he studied clarinet at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien with Professor Peter Schmidl (Wiener Philharmoniker). This was followed by studies of singing education, as well as Lieder, oratorio (Walter Moore) and opera. His major interest is in Lieder, especially the romantic - a post-romantic repertoire. He has given Lieder recitals in Europe and Latin America. With orchestras he sang under the baton of Fabio Luisi, Peter Schreier, Sir David Willcocks, Kristjan Järvi, Sylvain Cambreling, Erwin Ortner, Ernst Kovacic and others. His repertoire includes works from Early Music (including collaboration with Il seminario musicale) up to premieres (L. Berio, W. Sauseng, G. Toro, B.R. Deutsch, etc.).

The versatile artist also works for 12 years with the Neuen Wiener Concert Schrammeln and since the summer of 2005 with the Philharmonia Schrammeln. Since 2005 Günter Haumer is lecturer for singing at the Diözesan-Konservatorium für Kirchenmusik in St. Pölten. For over 20 years he has been a sought-after singer in oratorios and abroad. Tours took him to Germany, Italy, France, Spain, England, Poland, Northern, Central and South America and Japan.

In addition, Günter Haumer has participated in numerous TV shows, radio stations, as well as vinyl and CD recordings (Deutsche Grammophon CD of Viennese Specialities in live recording). On the occasion of the Mozart Year 2006 was seen as the baritone in the movie Wolfgang Who? on ARTE / ORF. Moreover, he celebrated with the Neuen Wiener Concert Schrammeln and Robert Meyer major successes with Tannhäuser in 80 minutes at the Burgtheater in Vienna and at the Vienna Volksoper.
