Cornelie Isenbürger (Soprano)

Born: Germany

The German soprano, Cornelie Isenbürger, received her training at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen and at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule in Düsseldorf under Professor Ingeborg Reichelt. She is winner of the singing competition of the Nordrhein-Westfälischen Musikhochschulen.

From 1999-2000 to 2003-2004 seasons Cornelie Isenbürger belonged to the Ensemble of the Theater Bielefeld.
She appeared in Bielefeld in numerous roles, including Gittel in der European premiere of Zwischen zwei Welten - Der Dybbuk, Zerline in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Hannchen in Künneke's Der Vetter aus Dingsda, Gretel in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel, the bride the premiere of Das stille Zimmer by Michael Hirsch, Frau Luna in der eponymous operette by Paul Lincke, Valencienne in Franz Lehár's Die lustige Witwe, Maria in Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story, Ännchen in Carl Maria von Weber's Der Freischütz, Sophie in Jules Massenet's opera Werther, Pamina and Papagena in Mozart's Zauberflöte, Almirena in G.F. Handel's Rinaldo, a role in the premiere of Frederic Rzewski's musical Die Perser, Adele in Strauss' Die Fledermaus, Siebel in Charles Gounod's Margarethe and Virginia in the premiere of of William Ward Murta's musical Starry Messenger (Der Sternenbote). Recently she sang Susanna in Die Hochzeit des Figaro, Ariel in Fibichs Der Sturm, Amor in Martin y Soler's Der Baum der Diana, Rosa in Erwin's das Naturtalent und Costanza in Alessandro Scarlatti's Griselda.


In the 2001-2002 season, Cornelie Isenbürger also sang with the Operntaler der Theater and Konzertfreunde Bielefeld e.V. In the 2005-2006 season, she worked freelance as a guest and sang the role of Morgana in George Frideric Handel's Alcina and Tebaldo in Verdi's Don Carlos. Engaments have led her to the Theaters in Wuppertal, Pforzheim, Germany, Kaiserslautern and Coburg, and to the festivals: Bad Hersfelder Festspielen and Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspielen. She have made concert tours to Italy, France, Poland and Switzerland. She was involved in recordings with the WDR broadcasting and the Polish Radio. For her role of Almirena at the Bayrischen Staatsoper she was nominated for the young singer of the year by the magazine Opernwelt.
