Sabine Kirsten (Soprano)

Born: The Netherlands

The Dutch soprano, Sabine Kirsten, studied singing at the Alkmaar Conservatory, obtaining Bachelor of Music degree in classical singing. and continued her studies with Wout Oosterkamp and Charlotte Riedijk. She also attended master-classes with Alberto ter Doest, Johannette Zomer and Catherine Sadolin. Currently she is coached by Maarten Koningsberger and Jaap Dieleman.|

Since 1998, Sabine Kirsten works as a free-lance singer. Her repertoire is very versatile. With her warm soprano sound she sang the soprano part in many sacred works, including St. Matthew Passion (BWV 244), Weihnachts-Oratorium (BWV 248), many cantatas and Magnificat (BWV 243) by J.S. Bach, Stabat Mater by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Requiem by W.A. Mozart and Messiah by George Frideric Handel.

Sabine Kirsten played roles in musical theater such as Euridice in Orfeo ed Euridice by W. von Gluck, Innocenza in the opera Trijn en Jenny at Dreigröschenoper. In addition to her performances with choirs and ensembles, she regularly works with harmony, and brass bands. She has also played throughout the Netherlands an opera for children entitled De tranen van de koning (Tears of the King)," and she gives recitals with fellow musicians in varying combinations.

Sabine Kirsten has a private practice and teaches workshops on singing choirs.
