Kristiane Köbler (Organ, Harpsichord)

Born: Leipzig, Germany

The German organist and harpsichordis, Kristiane Köbler, is the daughter of the organist Professor Robert Köbler (1912-1970). She studied organ and harpsichord, participated in master-classes in Weimar, Prague and Innsbruck in 1980, and won 3rd prize in organ at the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition.

Concert tours have led Kristiane Köbler to Sweden, Italy, France, the former Soviet Union. She has partipated in CD recordings with various soloists and ensembles, including her brother Reinhard (organ and saxophone). Kristiane Köbler is organist at the Thomaskirche in Leipzig, also a teacher at the School of Music "Johann Sebastian Bach."
