The German conductor, Peter Krone studied at Freien Universität Berlin musicology and at the Leipzig's Musikhochschule violin (with Professor György Garay) and conducting (with Professor Rolf Reuter and Werner Feder from the Opernhaus Leipzig). Beyond that he participated in various conducting courses for symphonic and choral-symphonic works, among other things as a scholarship holder of the Deutschen Musikrates with Sergiu Celibidache in Munich, and Professor Karl Österreicher in Vienna. He also participated in Lieder interpretation course by Professor Norman Shetler in Vienna.
Already during his studies with Professor Karl Forster, Peter Krone conducted on wide variety of choral-symphonic works. From 1959 to 1961 he was violinist and violist as well as critic at the Greifswalder Bachwochen. Before he took over in 1977 full-time the directing of the Collegium Musicum, he was active for several years in Chemnitz as a concert-master. Since its foundation in 1990, he also directs the Motettenchor der TU Chemnitz. Since that time he has had numerous concert successes in his homeland and abroad. |
