Werner Lechte (Bass)

Born: 1944 - Recklinghausen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

The German bass, church musician and teacher, Werner Lechte, studied from 1963 to 1974 church music in Essen (A-exam). He supplemented his education by vocal studies in Hamburg.

From 1963 to 1977 Werner Lechte worked as Kantor in Essen-Rüttenscheid, Bottrop and Recklinghausen. In 1979, he moved to St. Maximilian Church in Düsseldorf. Since 1989 he teaches singing and conducting at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule in Düsseldorf. In 1996 he was appointed professor. From 1992 to 1995 he directed the Bachchor Essen.
