Friedrich von Mansberg (Tenor)

Born: Lüneburg, Lower Saxony, Germany

The German tenor, Friedrich von Mansberg, studied singing with Sterling Brenton at the University of California at Santa Barbara (USA) and with Professor Charlotte Lehmann in Hannover. He studied Musik-Kinesthesie with Dr. Ernst Huber-Contwig (Hochschule für Künste Bremen), as well as English and German philology. From 2002 to 2009 he taught at the Hamburger Sängerakademie, singing studies "mature opera chorus”. Since 2007 he is dramaturge for theater music and responsible for school contacts the Theater Lüneburg. From the 2010-2011 season he is chief dramaturge there.

Concerts in oratorios, especially in the role of the Evangelist, and Lieder recitals have taken him all over Germany, as well as the Netherlands, and Scandinavian in Baltic xountries, Austria and Israel, England and France, and in 2008, also China, and Vienna.

Opera productions with a special focus on Mozart. Debut at the Nationale Reisopera of the Netherlands as Tamino, Don Ottavio, Ferrando and Belmonte; in 2001-2002, and 2006 (again Ferrando) at the Hamburger Kammeroper; since 2002 at the Theater Lüneburg (Offenbach, Zeller’s Der Vogel händler (Adam), L.v. Beethoven’s Fidelio (Jaquino), Kalman’s Czardas fürstin (Graf Boni) and Verdi's Macbeth); 2007-2008 etc. Don Ramiro (La Cenerentola). In this year: Così fan Tutte (Ferrando) and Gräfin Mariza (Zsupan); att the Theater der Stadt Heidelberg Student Arkenholz (Aribert Reimann’s Gespenster sonate); Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Marquis de Chateau neuf in Zar und Zimmermann; Andres in Wozzeck by Alban Berg in 2004. 2005 included Adam at the Theater Trier, Tamino at the Stadtoper Soest. Most recently he appeared as Ferrando, Baron Zsupan (Mariza) and Utersson (Jekyll und Hyde) at the Theater Lüneburg, and Ottavio at the Hamburger Kammeroper. In the 2009-2010 season he performed for the first time Mal Eisenstein (StadtOperette Soest).

Friedrich von Mansberg is married since 1996 to Heidi von Mansberg (born: Steuernagel) and they have four children: Lisa Marie (b 1996), Anna Sophie (b 1998), Anton Frederik (b 2003), Jakob Benedikt (b 2006). Since 2004 President of the "Deutschen Gesellschaft für Internationale Kinderbegegnungen e.V." (German Society for International Children's encounters)) CISV in Lüneburg.
