The American tenor, conductor and music oedagogue, Randy McGee, earned his Doctor of Arts in Vocal Performance (1996) and Choral Conducting with honors from the University of Northern Colorado.
Randy McGee is an active performer and teacher in the Boston area. His solo credits include the Bach Cantata Series with internationally-acclaimed Emmanuel Music, the concert series of Grammy-nominated Boston Baroque, Handel and Haydn Society and Cantata Singers. McGee has sung under the direction of conductors such as Helmuth Rilling, Seiji Ozawa, Robert Shaw and Harry Christophers. In addition to McGee's solo credits, his ensemble work includes the New York-based Waverly Consort and the Boston Early Music Festival.
Randy McGee directs the Opera Program and teaches voice at Boston College. He also serves as Music Director at First Parish Church in Kingston, Massachusetts and directs the adult chorus Kaleidoscope and the Somerville Community Chorus.
In addition to conducting and performing, Raandy McGee has taught at Phillips Exeter Academy, UMass Boston, Bridgewater State University and currently teaches voice and general studies at Boston College and Salem State University. He is former music director at Wellesley Hills Unitarian Universalist Society and teaches voice at Buckingham, Browne and Nichols School. He started with South Shore Conservatory in 2009. |
