Tobias Müller-Kopp (Baritone)

Born: Germany

The German baritone, Tobias Müller-Kopp, began his music studies at the music school of the UdK Berlin. In 1994 he took up singing studies with Professor Dietmar Hackel (UdK), and changed in 1996 to the singing class of Professor Scot Weir at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" (Berlin). During his studies he took singing studies with Eric Schneider und Anita Keller, as well as the Lieder-class of Wolfram Rieger. In 1999 he finished his studies with diploma of singer and diploma of singing teacher. The same year he received the interpretation prize with the 8th International Singing Seminar (Internationalen Gesangsseminar) on the Burg Beeskow with excellence. In 1999 he attended the master-class of Sergei Leiferkus in Berlin and later, in 2002, of Peter Konwitschny at the Akademie der Künste in Berlin.

Tobias Müller-Kopp can look back on an active career as concert and an opera singer: thus he has participated in numerous premier and other performances, among other things at the Neuköllner Oper and the Staatsoper Unter den Linden. Since then an intensive co-operation connects him with the director and author Peter Lund. He has participated in numerous international Festivals, such as in Rümlingen, Huddersfield and Lahore (Pakistan). His co-operation with the Kammerensemble für Neue Musik Berlin, Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and the Lautten Compagney Berlin led him to appearances at the Berliner Philharmonie, the Berliner Dom, the Hebbel-Theater, the Schlosstheater Rheinsberg and regularly at the Konzerthaus Berlin. Recently he sang the title role in Il Barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini with the Brandenburger Klostersommer 2003 and since March 2004 he is a guest at the Theater in Magdeburg.
