The Dutch bass-baritone, Marc Pantus, studied at the Utrecht's Conservatorium and at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague. He followed then to the opera-class and in 1997 gained the diploma of executive musician. He had been selected for the Steans Institute for Young Artists in het Ravinia Festival in Chicago (USA). There he had lesson with Thomas Allen, Christa Ludwig, Barbara Bonney, Elisabeth Söderström and Roger Vignoles, among others.
Marc Pantus has been regulasrly invited to perform in oratorio concerts, in his homeland and abroad. Thus he has sang among other things under the direction of Steven Sloane with the Bochumer Symphoniker and under the direction of Jos van Veldhoven with the Utrechts Barok Consort and with Cappella Figuralis. He has co-operated in a performance of George Frideric Handel's Israel in Egypt with the Nederlandse Bachvereniging conducted by Paul McCreesh. Many of these concerts have been broadcasted. He has sung various opera roles among, including Bartolo in Il barbiere di Siviglia with the Opera Holland Park in London with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Lessley Ann Sammons, Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro by Mozart conducted by Kenneth Montgomery, Collatinus in The Rape or Lucretia by Benjamin Britten at the Staatstheater in Wiesbaden (B.R.D.). His comic could be ssen in the role of Simone in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini (Opera Spanga).
In 2001, Marc Pantus directed and sang in production of Hasse's Larinda e Vanesio. In 2002, he followed with no less successful performance of Contadina. With the Utrechts Barok Consort he sang the role of Sancho Panza in Francesco Bartolomeo Conti's Don Chisciotte in Sierra Morena and could be heard in Telemann's Don Quichotte auf der Hochzeit des Camacho (Don Quichotte). In 2003, appeard CD on Clementi & Co., on which Marc Pantus sang Clementi, Tomaschek, Reichardt and Von Weber, accompanied by Jacques Ogg. In 2002, appeared CD recording of Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito (Publio) with Musica ad Rhenum conducted by Jed Wentz. Future engagements include the role of Zaccaria in Nabucco by Verdi with the Noord Nederlands Orkest, the Stabat Mater by Traetta with the Nederlandse Bachvereniging, Bart Visman's new opera De roep van de Kinkhoorn at Opera Trionfo and Les Noces by Igor Stravinsky with his own ensemble i piccoli holandesi Marc Pantus will sing and direct two comic intermezzi by Francesco Bartolomeo Conti.
