Robert Pitcher (Tenor)

Born: USA

The Amrican tenor, Robert Pitcher, holds degrees from Augustana College, Illinois, and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he was a student of John Humphrey.

Since coming to Boston Robert Pitcher has been a regular soloist at Marsh Chapel, including the 1996 performance of Messiah. Other performance credits include Messiah with the Dartmouth College Handel Society and Lukas Foss' Psalms with the Back Bay Chorale. Most recently he was heard as the tenor soloist in a performance of J.S. Bach's B minor Mass (BWV 232) with Schola Cantorum of Boston and the Brown University Chorus. This Fall he will be performing Benjamin Britten's cantata The Company of Heaven with the Boston University Repertory Chorus, a Boston premiere. Last summer he was a participant in the vocal Chamber music program at the Aspen Music Festival, where he plans to return as a member of the Aspen Opera Theater.
