Marco Radaelli (Baritone)

Born: April 16, 1961 - Italy

The Italian baritone and singing teacher, Marco Radaelli, began to study the classical piano, then jazz to finally arrive at the study of jazz singing with T. Ghiglioni. The revelation of early vocal music led him to graduate from the Civica Scuola di Musica di Milano in singing and performance practice of the music of the 17th and 18th centuries under the guidance of C. Miatello and R. Gini. He deepened the study of the voice with G. Ravazzi, M. King, Gloria Banditelli, G. Munari, Sergio Foresti, Bianca-Maria Casoni, V. Manno up to the achievement of the diploma of lyric singing at the Conservatorio G. Cantelli di Novara. He has participated in several master-classes on jazz singing, opera singing, early vocal music, Lieder interpretation in Loano, Bordighera, Urbino, Belluno.

Over the years Marco Radaelli has collaborated with conductors such as R. Gini, Rinaldo Alessandrini, G. Grazioli, G. Garrido, Michael Radulescu, M. Valsecchi, Marco Mencoboni, L. Picotti, G. Bonifacio Baroffio, G. Ubaldi, Giovanni Antonini. For many years he has collaborated, also as a soloist, with the choir of the Coro della Radio Svizzera of Lugano, directed by Diego Fasolis, singing throughout Europe and also in America. He participated in the complete recording of the sacred repertoire of Giovanni Battista Pergolesi conducted by Claudio Abbado for Deutsche Grammophon supporting concerts throughout Italy. He has collaborated with groups such as: the Coro Maghini directed by Claudio Chiavazza and Coro "Athestis" directed by Filippo Maria Bressan. With both choirs he has held multiple concerts for RAI directed by internationally renowned conductors such as R. Frühbeck De Burgos, J. Tate, Riccardo Chailly, Lorin Maazel, U.B. Michelangeli.

Marco Radaelli played the role of Uberto in La serva padrona by G.B. Pergolesi and Vanesio in Larinda e Vanesio by Johann Adolf Hasse. He also sang the role of Brabanzio in the jazz opera Mister O, composed and conduvted by G. Gaslini.

Marco Radaelli is also part of the Gregorian group "Stirps Jesse" directed by E De Capitani, of the group "More Antiquo" directed by G. Conti as well as of the group "Accademia Viscontea" directed by M. Padovan present in the project "La musica nella didattica" promoted by the Province of Milan. He is vice-president of the "Modulata Carmina" group co-ordinated by L. Santos, of the "Fantazyas" group directed by Roberto Balconi and of the "Biscantores" group directed by L. Colombo. He collaborates with the ensemble Il canto di Orfeo directed by Gianluca Capuano and has also sung at La Scala in Milan. He has also collaborated with "La Reverdie" and with the ensemble La Venexiana (Director: Claudio Cavina). For three years he was part of the Coro della Radio Svizzera with the soprano Cecilia Bartoli in a new edition of Norma, a work that was the subject of a tour that toured all of Europe.

Marco Radaelli's teaching activity began in 1994. He is teacher of: lyrical and modern singing. He also held choral singing and vocal singing courses for the Municipality of Milan. He taught singing at the Centro Omnicomprensivo di Trezzano sul Naviglio, at the Scuola Roberto Goitre di Gorgonzola, at the Scuola Musicale "Santa Cecilia" di Bergamo, at the Accademia Musicale Italiana di Monza, at the Scuola Civica di Trezzano sul Naviglio and at Ricordi-Nuova Musica di Trezzano sul Naviglio. For many years he taught singing at the Scuola Civica di Cesano Boscone. In 2015-2016 he taught singing at the Liceo Musicale A. Manzoni di Varese. Since 2016 he has been teaching singing at the Civica Scuola di Musica Antonia Pozzi di Corsico and since 2017 at the Scuola del Civico Corpo Musicale di Vimercate Nonché al MusiCH Institute di Lugano.
