The Puerto Rican guitarist, Eric Reyes Carde, born in a tradition of folk music, decided to study formal music. He studied freely at Maryland University and University of Purto Rico. His main teachers include Juan Sorroche, Alberto Ponce, Carlos Barbosa Lima and Bunyan Webb.Rip. He also knew Alirio Díaz, Miguel Alcazar, Francis Bebey, Jean Pierre Jumez, Bill Harris, Amos Coulanges. His awards include: first prize in Puerto Rico as soloist in the Island of the Enchantment; select to promote the culture of Puerto Rico at Martinique First International Festival 1975. In 1977 he won all honors at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. On June 3, 2009, he obtainend a Masters Of Arts in Music Education.
Eric Reyes Carde has produced 15 CD’s and belongs to the Institute Of Puerto Rican Culture. He considers himself nevertheles self taugh. and has played as far as Geneva, New York. He knew John Williams the guitarist who accepted his composition. He also plays cello and do not plans to retire from Pr,S Department of Education. He also played for governors, and received letters fron the Queen Elizabeth, Lionel Ferandez, Castro, Pope Benedictxvii, Liona Boyd and is in YouTube and Google. He also knows Mirna Sislen, Larry Snizler, known to the of Asturias.
Eric Reyes Carde teaches in the Ponce Free School Music. He served as juror in the Department of Justice. The disk and book “New Caribeann Dreams and More Fantasies” won him a doctorate from de D.Lc.E. on recognition. He belongs to the Lion Club, Knight of Columbus, Ponce Ateneum. His interest in intelectuality was spontaneus. His modern phisophica scientist is Carl Sagan and the president of the Pontifical University of Puerto Rico in Dr.Jorge Ivan Velez Arocho is his
