Peder Riis (Guitar, Arranger)

Born: Sweden

The Swedish guitarist, Peder Riis, studied the guitar with Rolf la Fleuer at the Music High School in Stockholm, where he later took the guitar pedagogue examination.

In the middle of the 1970's Peder Riis formed the "Gitarrkvartetten" (Stockholm Guitar Quartet), which has given many concerts in Sweden and had made two notable records on Opus3 label. In his solo recitals he usually performs works of J.S. Bach, Heitor Villa-Lobos, and Sylvius Leopold Weiss.

Peder Riis is at present (1982) teaching the guitar at the Music High Schools in Örebro and Stockholm, and at Stockholm's Institute for Music Pedagogy (SMI).
