Hugues Saint-Gelais (Tenor)

Born: Saguenay region of Québec, Canada

The Canadian tenor, Hugues Saint-Gelais, performs regularly throughout that province, both in opera and in recital. He has often appeared as a recitalist for the national French network of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Since 1989, Hugues Saint-Gelais has participated in more than twenty opera and operetta productions. He was critically acclaimed for his performances with the Opéra de Montréal in Verdi's Falstaff and Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann as well as in a concert version of Tchaikovsky's Pique Dame with the Orchestra symphonique de Québec.

A specialist in oratorio, Hugues Saint-Gelais is heard regularly with the Orchestra symphonique de Québec, the Orchestra symphonique de Laval and with Les Violons du Roy.
