Jan Sauer (Bass)

Born: Germany

The German bass, Jan Sauer, began his musical training with the Aurelius Sängerknaben Calw. From 2000 to 2007 he studied concert singing and vocal pedagogy with Professor Dr. Bernd Göpfert at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg. In 2004-2005 he completed his Master of Music degree at Newcastle University in England. His singing teacher there was Richard Wistreich.

The solo parts in oratorios and ensemble singing are in center of his activities. Jan Sauer regularly acts in choirs, including Amsterdam Baroque Choir, Rundfunkchor Berlin, Vocalconsort Berlin and Chapelle de la Vigne. Madrigal singing and Lieder are particularly close to his heart.
