Jean-Marc Savigny (Baritone)

Born: France

The Farench baritone, Jean-Marc Savigny, studied at the Conservatoire de Caen in the class of Luc Coadou then with Alain Buet from 2000 to 2004.

Jean-Marc Savigny has performed as a soloist and chorister under the direction of renowned conductors such Daniele Gatti, William Christie, Emmanuelle Haïm, David Stern, Jérémie Rhorer... and participated in more than 25 operas with stage directors such as Andreï Serban, Luc Bondy, Stéphane Braunschweig, Robert Carsen, Bob Wilson, Stephan Grögler. He has also performed with ensembles such as Les Arts Florissants (Director: William Christie), Le Concert d'Astrée (Director: Emmanuelle Haïm), Chœur de Chambre Accentus (Director: Laurence Equilbey), Le Chœur les Eléments (Director: Joël Suhubiette.), Les Jeunes Solistes (Director: Rachid Safir), La Maîtrise de Caen (Director: Olivier Opdebeeck), Les Musiciens du Paradis (Director: Bertrand Cuiller).

At the opera, Jean-Marc Savigny could be heard in the roles of Black Bob in Benjamin Britten's The Little Sweep (Théâtre d'Alençon), Commissioner in Verdi's La Traviata (Opéra de Rouen), Agamemnon in Offenbach's La Belle Hélène (Théâtre de Caen & Théâtre de Coutances), Figaro in W.A. Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro (CNR de Caen) and Bobby K. Weil's Mahagonny Songspiel (CNR de Caen). He is also the creator of a show around opera arias with Karine Sérafin. With the company Envolée Lyrique he sang Don Alfonso in W.A. Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte and performed all the villain roles in Offenbach's Les Contes D'Hofmann, receiving 2 Audience Awards at Avignon in 2013 and 2014.

Finally, Jean-Marc Savigny teaches singing in internships and academies (Festival des voix de l'Aure, Chœurs de l'opéra d'Athènes, Chœur universitaire de Caen, Chœur Venix vedi canto, Chœur de lOrphéon, Maîtrise Boréale...)
