Birgit Schöldberg-Stenberg (Contralto)

Born: June 30, 1916 - Sweden

The Swedish contralto, Birgit Schöldberg-Stenberg, was trained at the Academy of Music (with Julia Claussen and Joseph Hishop), at the College of Opera (John Forstell) and privately with Dagmar Gustafson. She also took courses with Erich Werba.

Birgit Schöldberg-Stenberg made her debut in 1945. She was primarily romance and oratorio singer. She was also member of the Engelbrekt church choir in Stockholm. She has taught at the Royal College of Opera since 1970.
