The Senesino Players is directed by the young award-winning conductor, Barnaby Smith. The orchestra has a reputation for stylistically sensitive performances of the music of the late Baroque and early Classical period, although they perform a whole range of styles and genres.
The flagship orchestra of the organisation Voces Cantabiles Music, the Senesino Players is a dynamic, youthful and talented group of young professional performers based in London. Many of the Players are current or recent graduates of The Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London. Several members also play with top world-class orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
The Senesino Players has an ongoing collaboration with Voces8, whom the orchestra has performed alongside most recently in Georg Frideric Handel’s ‘21st Century Messiah’ in venues across London, most notably the Foundling Museum where G.F. Handel’s score of the Messiah is located.
