Annegeer Stumphius (Soprano)

Born: Vlissingen, Holland

The Dutch soprano, Annegeer Stumphius, studied at the Conservatory in Rotterdam.

In 1987 Annegeer Stumphius made her début as Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte with the Glyndebourne Touring Comapny. From 1987 to 1988 she was in the Opera Studio at the Bavarian State Opera, then became a regular member of the company in 1988. Besides this, she is a regular guest artist primarily at the Semper Opera in Dresden. She has meanwhile acquired a sizable repertoire at the Bavarian State Opera, where she has been heard, among other roles, as Fiordiligi, Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), First Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Marzelline (Fidelio), Kate Pinkerton (Madame Butterfly), Europa (Die Liebe der Danae), Ellen Orford (Peter Grimes), Nicoletta (The Love of the Three Oranges), Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) and Guardian of the Temple Threshold (Die Frau ohne Schatten).
