Carsten Süß (Tenor)

Born: Mainz, Germany

The German tenor, Carsten Süß, studied singing with his father.

Carsten Süß made his international debut at the Maggio Musicale in Florence as Gomatz in Mozart's Zaide, followed by debuts in Vienna, Prague and Graz. From 1997 he was an ensemble member of the Staatsoper Dresden. Since 2001 he has appeared as a guest on numerous stages at home and abroad. He is a welcome guest also at the Frankfurt Opera. He pperformed in the German premiere of the opera The Tempest by Thomas Adès at the Frankfurt Opera, and the title role of Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring at the 35th Cantiere Internationale d'Arte Montepulciano - both times, directed by Keith Warner. At the Cologne Opera he appeared as David in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and as Loge in Das Rheingold.

As a Lieder singer, Carsten Süß is a regular guest of the Schubertiada in Hohenems and Schwarzenberg.
