Paul Thompson (Tenor)

Born: England

The English tenor, Paul Thompson, was a choral scholar at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge graduating with First Class Honours in Music in June 1997. With the choir he toured Germany, Slovenia, Italy, Spain and the USA, made regular radio broadcasts and recorded four CD’s. He studied English with David Lowe.

Paul Thompson is currently a Lay Clerk at Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford. His solo repertoire extends from the Baroque to the present day.

Recent performances include J.S. Bach’s St John Passion (BWV 245) and St Matthew Passion (BWV 244), Georg Frideric Handel’s Foundling Hospital Anthem, W.A. Mozart’s Requiem, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Arvo Pärt’s Litanies of St John Chrysostom.
