Keith Tonne (Tenor)

Born: USA

The American tenor, Keith Tonne, graduated with a Master’s Degree in Vocal Peformance from Indiana University.

Keith Tonne’s performing career included 8 years as the Leading Lyric Tenor at the Darmstadt State Opera Theater in Germany, with guest appearances in Opera Houses in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria, where he performed over 30 roles. Equally at home in Concerts and Recitals, he has appeared as soloist with many orchestras in the USA and in Europe, including at Lincoln Center as tenor soloist in the Mozart Requiem. In 1993 he sang the World Premiere of Nightmusics by John Armstrong.

Keith Tonne has taught at Jacksonville State University, Indiana University at Fort Wayne, and at Michigan State University. He now serves as associate professor of music and director Director of Opera program at DePauw Univeresity: School of Music.
