Aleksandra Utrecht (Piano)

Born: December 19, 1928 - Kościan, Poland

The Polish pianist, Aleksandra Utrecht (nee Wojciechowska), studied piano with Gertruda Konatkowska and Stanisław Szpinalski.

Since 1960 Aleksandra Utrecht has been giving concerts in major concert-halls at home and abroad. Her repertoire consists of 45 piano concertos and about 25 recital programmes which embrace the works of composers of all periods. A good portion of this repertoire is made up by works of J.S. Bach, whom she plays with great love, as well as by 20th century composers and Polish composers. On many occasions she gave the first performance of pieces by leading modern composers. She took part several times in the „Warsaw Autumn” International Festival of Contemporary Music, in the Festivals of Polish modern music in Poznań and Wrocław as well as the Piano Festival at Słupsk.

Aleksandra Utrecht made many recordings on discs, for radio and archival tape collections.
