The Russian pianist, Anatoly (Tolia) Vedernikov, was a pupil of Nehaus and became a great friend of Sviatoslav Richter when he arrived in Moscow in 1937. They played together too much: Bach's Concerto, Rondo of Chopin, Concerto pathétique of Liszt, En blanc et noir of Debussy, the 2° Suite of Sergei Rachmaninov and Béla Bartók's Sonata. His career did not develop outstide the Soviet Unions, but he is considered a great performer of Bach, Chopin, Debussy and music of the 20th Century. |
