Katie Walders (Soprano)

Born: USA

The American soprano, Katie Hickey Walders, holds a bachelors degree in Music Industry from James Madison University (Virginia), and a Masters in Arts Administration and Cultural Policy from Goldsmiths College, University of London.

Katie Walders began her professional career in Washington DC, singing with some of the finest choirs and conductors in the city in a variety of venues ranging from the historic Rock Creek Episcopal Church to the Washington National Cathedral to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. She performed regularly with The Woodley Ensemble, Chantry early music ensemble, and The Master Chorale of Washington. Performing experience abroad includes the University of London Chamber Choir, Imperial College Choir, Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, Czech National Orchestra & Chorus, and professional chorister at numerous churches, including St. Bartholomew-the-Great.

Since moving to San Diego in the fall of 2011, Katie Walders has been sought after as a soloist and choral musician regularly performing with the Bach Collegium San Diego, under the direction of Ruben Valenzuela. She was the soprano soloist in a performance of Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem at St. Paul’s Cathedral for the 10th Anniversary Memorial Concert honoring those lost on September 11, 2001.

Katie Walders is the Marketing and Public Relations Manager for the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library, La Jolla, and Soprano Section Leader for the Village Church, Rancho Santa Fe.
