Louisa Waycott (Mezzo-soprano)

Born: Ketchum, Sun Valley, Idaho, USA

The American mezzo-soprano, Louisa Waycott, graduated with Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from The University of Mississippi (2011), where she performed Tessa in The Gondoliers, Mercedes in Georges Bizet's Carmen, Estrella in La Perichole, and La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi. She studied with Opera in the Ozarks (2008) where she performed Despina in W.A. Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte, The International Lyric Academy in Viterbo, Italy (2009), The American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) in Graz, Austria (2010), The Neil Semer Vocal Institute in Auh, Germany (2013-2014), and Songfest in Mlibu, California (2011). She is a recent graduate of The Maryland Opera Studio with her Master of Music degree (2016).

In the 2013-2014 season Louisa Waycott performed Lady Saphir in Patience and covered Meg in Falstaff with Utopia Opera, covered Martha in Iolanta with New Opera New York Ccity, and performed La Zia in Madama Butterfly with Amore Opera. In the 2014-2015 season she performed Madame de la Haltière with Miami Summer Music Festival in Cendrillon and the Shepherd in L’enfant et les sortileges with the Maryland Opera Studio. During the 2015-2016 season sje performed Donna Elvira in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni, the third lady in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, and the title role in Blitzstein’s Regina with The Maryland Opera Studio.

This summer (2016), Louisa Waycott will perform Zita in Gianni Schicchi and cover Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with Prague Summer Nights Festival in the Czech Republic. She will also be a featured vocalist with Livermore Valley Opera's "Opera in the Vineyard" concert at the Rerzlaff Vineyard. She currently lives in Washington, District of Columbia.
