Sabine Weyer (Piano)

Born: May 8, 1988 - Luxembourg

The Luxembourger pianist, Sabine Weyer, started her piano studies at the age of 7 at the Conservatory of her home town, where in 2007 she received the Diplôme Supérieur. In May 2007 she gainrf the 1. Prix de Perfectionnement at the unanimity of the jury members in the CNR of Metz (France). Until June 2012 she was studying with Alexandar Madzar at the Flemish Conservatory in Brussels for the Masters Degree which she obtained with distinction. In June 2013, she got the Postgraduate Degree in the classe of A. Madzar with distinction. She participated in various master-classes, working with famous professors such as Françoise Buffet-Arsenijevc, András Schiff, and Vassil Guenov with whom she studied regularly until 2007. During summer 2008, she was admitted to participate in a masterclass for young soloists in Germany, with the known pedagogue Karl-Heinz Kaemmerling. During the summer 2010 she was selected, with only 7 other students from around the world, to participate in The London Masterclasses until the guidance of the very famous British pianist and teacher Norma Fisher. In July 2011 she was invited to participate in the “Internationale Klavierakademie Freiburg” with Jura Margulis and Paul Badura-Skoda. Recently, she was selected to participate in a master-class with the famous Russian pianist Oxana Yablonskaya in Kiev, Ukraine (February 2013), where she performed L.v. Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 with orchestra. Since September 2013, she is following the advices of the world-famous pianist Aquiles Delle Vigne, having been admitted to his private school in Coimbra, Portugal (Accademia Delle Vigne, a school with the aim of promoting young talents on the edge to an international career).

Sabine Weyer recently appeared as a soloist during the Wagner-Verdi-Liszt festival in the Teatro San Carlos in Lisbon and at the Teatro Academico Gil Vicente in Coimbra, as well as in the very famous Castle of Ursel near Antwerp, Belgium. She often performs in concerts in Luxembourg, Belgium, France, Italy, the UK, Portugal and Germany, as a soloist and in different chamber music groups. In May 2014, she was touring to China and performing among other venues, at the Shanghai Concert Hall on May 11, 2014 in a programme dedicated to Brahms. During that same month, she was also one of the guest artists in Laurent Graulus’ radio transmission “Puisque vous avez du talent”. First, her concert from April 24, 2014 in the Musée des Instruments de Musique in Bruxelles was broadcasted on Musique 3, then she gave an interview answering questions about her present and future projects and her life as a young international pianist. In February 2015, Sabine Weyer won the 1. Prize at the Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition, and performed in the Royal Albert Hall in London on March 13, 2015.

Sabine Weyer published her first commercial CD in Autumn 2015, with music from Rameau and Debussy, CD published by the Austrian label Paladino and recorded in the world-famous Konzerthaus in Vienna. The CD has been released in more than 60 countries over the world. The official release concert took place at the Philharmonie in Luxembourg in October 2015, thanks to the support of Solistes Européens Luxembourg, as well as in the major european cities such as Paris, London, Berlin, Rome … She is now working on the release of the second CD, with concertos by J.S. Bach as well as the double concerto for violin and piano by Felix Mendelssohn (recorded with the Berliner Camerata).

Since September 2015 Sabine Weyer is teaching at the Conservatory in Luxemburg-City.
