Jens Winkelmann (Tenor)

Born: 1965 - Freital, Saxony, Germany

The German tenor, Jens Winkelmann, was in his childhood in the Dresdner Kreuzchor. He studied theology and singing in Leipzig, graduating in 1995 and in Dresden, graduating in 1997.

After graduating in 1995, Jens Winkelmann was engaged on the stages at the Herkuleskeule in Dresden, at the Theater Gera/Altenburg, and at the Staatsoperette Dresden. Since the 2008-2009 season, he works at the Mittelsächsischen Theater. In addition to his stage engagements, he runs a busy concert schedule. On stage he has appeared in recent years as Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville, Satyavan in Savitrie, Max in Der Freischutz and Graf Boni in Csárdásfürstin. In 2011-2012 season, he has seen in: Der Liebestrank, Die Prinzessin auf der Erbse, Sturmhöhe (Wuthering Heights), Der Zigeunerbaron.
