Amy Wood (Soprano)

Born: England

The English soprano, Amy Wood, has been a member of several renowned English vocal ensembles, including Polyphony (Director: Stephen Layton), Tenebrae (Director: Nigel Short), Ex Cathedra (Director: Jeffrey Skidmore), Monteverdi Choir (Director: John Eliot Gardiner), Armonico Consort (Director: Christopher Monks), The Tallis Scholars (Director: Peter Phillips), Cambridge Singers (Director: John Rutter), London Voices (Director: Terry Edwards) and Eric Whitacre Singers (Director: Eric Whitacre).

Amy Wood has also performes as a soloist, for example: Schubert's Mass in G major, George Frideric Handel:'s Alexander’s Feast and Tippett's Four Negro Spirituals with the Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus conducted by Harry Curtis (July 2006); Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols and John Rutter's Gloria with Brass10 conducted by Peter Bassano (December 2007); J.S. Bach's Magnificat (BWV 243) with members of the 18th Century Concert Orchestra conducted by Martin Bussey (June 2014); J.S. Bach's Magnificat (BWV 243) and J. Haydn's Nelson Mass with Cambridgeshire Choral Society conducted by Andrew Parnell (April 2015); J.S. Bach's St Matthew Passion (BWV 244) with Ex Cathedra and City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jeffrey Skidmore (March 2016); Giovanni Battista Pergolesi's Stabat Mater with Fiori Musicali Players conducted by Penelope Rapson (August 2017), and many more.
