Alice Ann Yates (Contralto)

Born: July 31, 1933 - Plainview, Texas, USA

The American contralto, Alice Ann Yates Goode, sang with the Roger Wagner Chorale from early fall of 1956 to the spring of 1960 . She participated in several USA/Canada tours and in 1959 the Eisenhour Good Will tour of South America ,Central America and Mexico. She did three recordings with the Roger Wagner Chorale: Reflections, Virtuoso, Bach Cantata BWV 4 and Mass in G minor by Ralph Vaughan Williams in which she was the Alto soloist.

Alice Ann Yates lives in Raleigh, North Carolina. She taught voice at Meredith College in Raleigh for 20 years and in earlier years was guest soloist on many occasions. She especially enjoyed the annual North Carolina Bach Festival in Raleigh. She has just entered my eightieth year and happy to say she still sings.
