Jan Žáček (Guitar)

Born: 1957 - Prague, Czechoslovakia

The Czech guitarist, Jan Žáček, studied guitar in Karlsruhe and Basel.

Since 1986 Jan Žáček's recitals led him to many cultural centres on four continents. His solo performances in Gasteig in Munich, the Wigmore Hall in London and the Carnegie Hall in New York were received with enthusiasm. He has been invited to record for numerous radio and television stations (Radio Bavaria, Radio Free Berlin, Deutschlandfunk, Classic FM London).

Jan Zácek works together with outstanding singers such as the German baritone Olaf Bär and the English tenor Neil Jenkins (Glyndebourne Opera). He has had guest soloist appearances with the Berliner Symphoniker, the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the Stuttgart Staatstheater Orchestra. He has been invited to give master-classes in many countries. Jan Zácek's compositions are published by Breitkopf & Hertel.
