Kamila Zajíčková (Soprano)

Born: Slovakia

The Slovak soprano, Kamila Zajíčková, studied at Bratislava's Academy of Performing Arts. After completing her studies, she has taken part in a number of master-classes and courses devoted to the interpretation of Early music.

In addition to her regular collaboration with Musica Aeterna Bratislava, Kamila Zajíčková also appears in concert with other ensembles from both home and abroad. She has appeared at the Early music festivals in Utrecht, Vienna, Prague, Budapest.

Kamila Zajíčková has recorded a CD of cantatas by J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel and Georg Philipp Telemann and participated in a number of further CD projects: Soirée á Gotha (Benda), Baroque Christmas (G.F. Handel), Antonio Vivaldi (Gloria, Magnificat).

Kamila Zajíčková taught, at the Teaching's training Faculty of the Comenius University in Trnava and at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Bratislava.

"Performing Arts" Washington Post wrote about her (December 1997): “Soprano Zajickova was simplyspectacular in Scarlatti´s "Lamentazioni per la Settimana Sancta" and Stuck´s "Cantata Cephale et Aurore." She showed an effortless ability to maneuver the treacherous rapids of Scarlatti´s ascending and descending scales, and she used her beautiful crystal tones to great effect in her interpretation of Stuck´s cantata. It was an elegant and memorable performance and Zajickova´s limpid tones lingered long after the final note.”
