The Gelders-Utrechts Cantatekoor (GUC) was founded in January 1994. The aim of the choir is to perform the Baroque cantatas by high-level amateur singers. Main composer is of course J.S. Bach. The choir performs works by other composers, among them Maurice Duruflé, Francis Poulenc, Bruckner, Felix Mendelssohn, Ramirez.

The GUC is a relatively small choir of over 20 members. All choir members are music enthusiasts and practitioners are also active in other choirs. The GUC is fdirected since it foundation headed by Harry Brasser. The musical accompaniment of the concerts is provided by the Gelders-Utrechts Cantate Ork, which consists of professional musicians. The soloists who participate in the concerts are all professional musicians. The Guc also gives young choir (singing) talent the opportunity to present themselves.

The concerts take place on Saturday between 16:00 and 17:00 at the Cunerakerk Rhenen. This church is one of the finest late Gothic churches in the Netherlands.
