Gottlob Ludwig Raden was a German organist. He enrolled at the University of Leipzig on July 9, 1737 (until 1742?). He studied privately with J.S. Bach in Leipzig during this period. From 1737 he was organist at the Michaeliskirche in Zeitz as the representative of his grandfather Johann Siegismund Liebe; in 1742 he was appointed Stadtorganist (city organist) at this church; and in 1756 he succeeded Johann Ludwig Krebs as the Schloßorganist (castle organist) in Zeitz.
Gottlob Ludwig Raden's lessons with J.S. Bach were mentioned three times by his grandfather J.S. Liebe (a brother of Anna Magdalena Bach's mother) in connection with a proposed job in Zeitz (1738, 1739, 1740), each with the choice of words that the grandson had with J.S. Bach "in music feste gesetzt" (fixed in music). At this time, G.L. Raden seemed to have been permanently present in Zeitz as a representative of the organ, which is why the student relationship probably only came about briefly in 1737.
