Peter Schimert (Bach's Pupil)

Born: 1712 - Germany
Died: 1785 - Hermannstad, Transylvania (now: Sibiiu, Romania)

Peter Schimert was a German organist and choral conductor. He studied privately with J.S. Bach in Leipzig from 1733 to 1738, after which he lived in Hermannstadt for the rest of his life. He was appointed organist and director chori musici there in 1745 and cathedral organist in 1757.
